Guardado hurt

Andres Guardado left Deportivo's game on Saturday with a left calf injury, the extent of which won't be known until Monday.

The Mexican standout could be out for six weeks, which would effectively rule him out of Mexico's game against the United States.

If Guardado misses the game, he would be the fourth first-choice player that would not be available for the game. Already Gerardo Torrado and Carlos Vela are out do to suspension while defender Jonny Magallon has already been lost for the first few weeks of the Clausura season, though he said recently he plans on returning to full healthy by early February.

with all due respect, the mexicans are all talk... no action, unless of course they are playing at azteca... not much beyond that... they are so good, the latest call-up features FOUR brazilian/argentinian-born players... now that's a confident soccer nation...

let's not forget that the last CONCACAF nation to reach the final eight was... uh-oh, not mexico, but the USA...

France won a title with a plethora of naturalized players.

Germany also has its share of naturalized players.

Spain won the euro with a Brazilian as a key part.

Almost every nation in the Euro had a token Brazilian or south American player.

Its all about having a competitive edge.

The is also all talk ,why cant they win on Mexican soil?

US Soccer was afraid to set up the game at Rosebowl because they knew they could get embarrassed.

For gods sake the U.S. got out played by Ghana in the last world cup lol

While Mexico lost on a hell of a goal by Maxi Rodriguez deep into overtime, who was really underachieving?

The US also happens to be a confident nation, there's: Holden, Adu, Mastroeni, and Feilhaber.

Now that's a cofident soccer nation...

If MLS had stand out Brazilians and Argentines, they would probably on the Nat Team.
