No, not Panchito... though they could have him if they want him.
Aaron Galindo, formerly of Eintracht Frankfurt, has returned home to join Chivas de Guadalajara. Galindo was the star reinforcement Chivas sought to obtain to bulk up their backline and help the club fight for a playoff spot this upcoming season. Galindo is a quality central defender who probably would have been more polished and more seasoned had he not been slapped with a yearlong ban for steroid use in 2005. Galindo and Salvador Carmona, both of whom likely would have been on Mexico's 2006 World Cup team, were booted from El Tricolor during the Confederations Cup in '05 and both were banned for a year. Galindo learned his lesson, sat out a year, played with Hercules of Spain's second division and moved to Grasshoppers afterward before joining Frankfurt. Carmona did not, tested positive a second time and was banned for life.
Chivas had pursued Galindo heavily during the offseason and finally nabbed him. Reports said that Chivas paid more than 3 million Euros for his services. Galindo's contract is for four years so he should be a key player for years to come.
