A columnist in Mural wrote about Alexi Lalas' statements regarding his feelings toward El Tri. The column San Cadilla featured a message to Alexi and the columnist said that even though the former US central defender would likely not read his words, he wanted to send his message anyway.
He broke it down this way:
1. The hate (in sporting terms) goes both ways.
2. Lalas is just bitter because in his day the "gringos" couldn't hang with the Mexicans.
3. Anyone whose real name is Panayotis Alexander can't be taken seriously as a player, a musician and much less as a TV analyst.

Hilarious! Touche!
Or a MLS GM for that matter hahaha
How the loud and brash have fallen...
Sound familiar FMF?
Iam a Mexico fan but obviously this columinst dosen't remember the summer of 1995 , when it was Mexico that couldn't hang with the U.S. . The columnist forgot the 4-1(although Mexico fielded a really alternative team that day ,anyone remember central defender El campeoncito Hernandez?) at RFK and the U.S. ousting Mexico from the Copa America in 95.
So I dont think Lalas would be bitter about not having grand showings against Mexico during his time
Xenophobia towards both American and Greeks. Nice. Went for the double.
Somebody needs to tell the Mexicans that the Americans also think Alexi Lalas is a douchebag.
Harkes, Cobi and even Landon have made comments along those lines about Mexico (the team, not the country) so why single out Lalas?
The mexican side is showing their emotion cards too much. They're letting the trash talk get to them. Sven needs to calm them down and keep them from making such declarations.
