Big loss

Honduras star David Suazo is done for the season after having severely injured his knee while playing for Benfica over the weekend.

How bad is Suazo's injury? Some reports said that Suazo's career is in danger.

Suazo who was in Benfica on loan from Inter Milan is widely considered one of the top players from CONCACAF. If and when he does return, it will likely be a struggle for him to reclaim such a lofty status. The former Cagliari standout will turn 30 this year, and his damaging injury coupled with his advancing footballing age may indeed spell doom for Suazo.

Most importantly this injury may kill Honduras' world cup chances and help Mexico whose recent performances have been well, pathetic.

Feel sorry for the guy and Honduras, not sure they can get it done with Costa Rica and Mexico waiting in the wings.

Honduras will miss Suazo. However though they managed to play well without his services. He has tended to play when he wants to for Honduras, If I remember correctly. Honduras hasa very good core group of youngsters. they should be ok.

as to the injury itself, a meniscus injury dangering a career? If had both left and right meniscus tears with surgery albeit in college and I've recovered just fine no problems.

I may drop in on Honduras camp tomorrow. Not the time to visit but they are in Fort Lauderdale training down the street from me.

That's too bad for Honduras, I was hoping they had a full squad when they crush the U.S. But no excuses (unlike the US who has a million) we should qualify either way.

While I feel horrible for Suazo this is not necessarily bad news for fans of the other teams in the Hexagonal.

What a shame!!! I was hoping that Honduras would raise the level of play in the CONCACAF. They have a talented team.
