Jose Francisco Torres is in.
"Gringo" Torres has been called up to the U.S. national team for their game against Mexico on Feb. 11, so says Pachuca and the player himself (thanks Robert for the heads-up!).
Check out the a shot of the young cowboy here. I'm trying to figure out if that's a real picture or not... I have my doubts but it's funny anyway.
Said "Gringo" about the match: "I'm very happy. I've just been informed of the call up. I think that with the players coming back from Europe we'll have a very strong team."
Of course, Torres was asked about Mexico's Public Enemy No. 1, Landon Donovan.
"He can be a difference maker at any moment. He's a great player with a lot of great qualities."
Torres talked about having had to choose between the U.S. and Mexico.
"It was a difficult decision to make but now I just have to focus on training and if I get a chance to play against Mexico I have to give everything I have to succeed. Games between Mexico and the United States are and will always be Clasicos. For me, it will be a special occasion because I know both teams very well."
