The Galaxy have obtained Todd Dunivant from Toronto FC as the former Galaxy standout returns after nearly three years in New York and Toronto. The Canadian club gets some allocation money in return.
Dunivant, who played every minute during the Galaxy's championship-winning 2005 season, will battle for a starting spot at left back. This move fills the hole left vacant by the departure of Ante Jazic, whom the Galaxy traded to Chivas USA. Either Mike Randolph is not ready for the long haul or Galaxy coach Bruce Arena felt that depth along the backline is necessary, or both.
I've always been a believer in Dunivant and felt he should never have been dealt away in the first place. However, injuries and inactivity have hampered Dunny for several years now. In 2007 Dunivant played in 25 games but a year ago played in just nine.
Just how much Dunivant has left in the tank remains to be seen but he can still be effective and provides a much more experienced option than Randolph.

Agree with you, Luis, about the fact that the Galaxy never should have traded Dunivant in the first place (another one of Bozo the Mad Genius' brilliant moves). He's one of those unsung players that every team needs; he does his job well and quietly.
