More analysis from the Futbol Picante crowd, this time on Rafael Marquez.
Some of the interesting things the commentators said:
- "It was a cowardly act."
- "If he did this over there (in Spain) and repeated it in a Real Madrid-Barcelona match, the fans would not have him back, and neither would the club."
- "What he should do is take the captain's armband, turn it in and say 'I made a mistake.'"
They're also not thrilled about Marquez not talking to the media before the game, then running to the press afterward to get his apology out.

Hey LB,
Did this fool ever apologize to Timay Howard?
Fuck Tim Coward he is a punk as bitch
Anon 1 - he did go up to Howard right after the foul and say something and Howard seemed to take it with grace and maturity -- something which Anon 2 might want to learn about and demonstrate.
Got it.
Tim Coward? LOL! Estupi.
Thanks, Anon 3.
I still find it funny how the Mexican media is tearing Markez apart, but when Sanchez tried to blantly tackle Pope everyone ignored it.
I think it time for Mexico to start preparing more of its youth by introducing Hector Moreno and Memo Ochoa. Maybe even Pato for Pardo.
"I still find it funny how the Mexican media is tearing Markez apart, but when Sanchez tried to blantly tackle Pope everyone ignored it."
In the end, Sanchez didn't do anything. He tried, but nothing occured. Marquez did and got him.
"tackle Pope"? You mean Eddie Johnson.
The classsy thing for Marquez to do would be to publicly apologize to Howard. Something as simply as, I apologize to Tim, I did not mean to hurt him. The reason this is important is because this will carry weight with FIFA. The fact that he has not publicly apologized coupled with the altercation after the match by a Mexican coach will force FIFA to act harsh. After all, this is one of the greatest rivalries at the National level for FIFA
