The Mexican national team is in action tonight as well as El Tri plays Ecuador in Phoenix. While the result won't hardly matter - the big game for El Tri is next Wednesday in Honduras - all eyes will be on Nery Castillo. The new Chivas forward will try to get himself back in the mix and prove that he can still be an effective national team player.
Mexico is hardly coming in with a swagger, though. One point from two road qualifiers will do that, and Mexico needs to get a result from Honduras next week in order to qualify for next year's Hexagonal.
Mark Zeigler of the San Diego Union-Tribune is in Phoenix for the game and checks in with his usual top-notch story.
